Life can change in an instant, but that’s not always a bad thing.
A hotel explodes leaving staff and guests in peril; a woman retrieves an old clock from the attic with disturbing consequences; one man leaves heart break behind him, and another arrives to bring adventure.
In this haunting collection, Annalisa Crawford creates characters who will charm, captivate and intrigue you.
Annalisa’s stories have featured in Fairlight Shorts, Fictive Dream, and Reflex Fiction; and have been short- and longlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, the Bath Short Story Award, Globe Soup, and more.

There are many easier things to do than try to publish a book with a broken wrist. But there are many far harder ones, so I’m trying not to fall into a ball of self-pity, but this is a muted version of a cover reveal because I’m exhausted 😴💤
I’m still looking for a couple more stops on my blog tour, the week beginning 9th January. If you can help, please comment below, email, message me on Facebook, or send smoke signals. I’m happy to provide a guest post, but if someone would like to interview me, that would be awesome – I haven’t done that for a couple of years and I like talking about myself!
Hi Annalisa – Cornish friend – I’d love to interview you – so recover for another few weeks and we can sort things out after that … 9th January 2023 or some other time … short stories are always enjoyable reads. Cheers – you’ll have to send me smoke signals – the wind doesn’t often work the other way along the coast of little old Britain?! Take care – and well done for getting this up and out here – Hilary

Thank you. I’m mostly concentrating on pain management and resting it at the moment. It’s a very inconvenient time to be broken!
