Another interesting year is coming to an end. I started it with three months of furlough, returned to work, finished a novel, published a novel (you might have heard?), had a lockdown-themed short story published (All the Magpies Come Out to Play @ Fairlight Books), worried I might lose my job, heard my job was saved, and helped my eldest son move to Bristol and embark on the next stage of his life.
Thank you for sharing this year with me, even though my posting has been patchy to say the least. If you’re interested in regular updates, my newsletter goes out monthly and you can sign up to it here. I’m planning to make a couple of changes next year, such as sharing details of writing competitions I enter so you can join me, and including some paranormal items as I come across them. After all, with the tagline ‘contemporary fiction with a hint of paranormal’, I should probably hint at it in my non-fiction musings as well!
As we head into the continued uncertainties of the new year, I wish you the very happiest Christmas, filled with family, friends, and fun. See you in 2022 x

Well done Annalisa – so pleased your job was saved … much less worrying. Excellent your son is back in Bristol – it seems like a city of opportunity. All the best to you and the family over this end of year – I just hope next year eases up – I guess we’ll have to wait for Spring. Have a peaceful time – cheers Hilary

Thanks Hilary – I hadn’t realised how badly the uncertainty of losing my job was affecting me until it was all over. I’d like to think next year will be a little more stable, but you’re right, we have the winter to get through first.

You had a bit of roller coaster ride, didn’t you! I’m so glad you’re job was saved. Your book is brilliant and you are definitely on a roll. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year – and perhaps some Kernow chocolate! Did I tell you that I have made a tradition of sending it to my friends in Bath, ever since you introduced me to it? Cheers!

I’m thrilled you love the chocolate as much as I do, Melissa. I recently tucked into their Marzipan Stollen flavour – delicious! And thank you for your kind words about Small Forgotten Moments, hopefully I’ll keep rolling 😁
