At this time of year, I slow down. It’s not planned, but when the sun barely breaks out from behind dense cloud and natural light is therefore hard to come by, I just want to curl up and hibernate.
Walking the dog helps, especially when I’ve got this nature reserve on my doorstep. The silence is fantastic for working through any writing problems I’ve got.
Note: that’s not a sunset, it was taken at about 2:30pm!
Hi Annalisa – I know … a tiny little more light comes along very soon – and then another year … 2017 must count and be kinder … but love your views – gorgeous place to be able to get to and let the gentle rustle, or stormy gale blow the cobwebs and challenges away … have a wonderful time with the family – cheers Hilary

Yes, it’s the shortest day tomorrow, isn’t it? (Or today?) All uphill from now on… 🙂

I tend to write more in winter (less distractions, I suppose) but I do slow down in other ways.

The weather does lend itself to remaining at home in front of a fire with a hot drink and a pen in your hand, doesn’t it? 🙂

I’d enjoy walking there as well. The dark days make me want to just crash on the couch and veg.

With a dog to walk, I have to go out. And I’m usually glad I did. I’m less keen on torrential rain, but I treat myself to extra hot chocolate if that happens 🙂

I could definitely set a great story around that area. Something to think about…

I like your new bloggy home! I find it hard to venture out of my cozy house too. I usually walk to shops in the area. Your reserve may be dark at 2:30, but at least there’s no snow there. Have a very Merry Christmas!

Thank you. We had a lot of snow about 4 years ago – it got slushy very quickly, then lethally icy. So, yes, I’m happy with no snow! Merry Christmas Lexa 🙂

I know what you mean, it gets dark so early! I think it is the shortest day tomorrow so edging forward to the lighter evenings.
